Leesa Morris is a forensic psychologist and holds a Bachelor of Social (Honours), MA (Hons), MPsych (Forensic). She has 20 years’ experience having worked with the Australian Institute of Criminology, Department of Defence and the ACT Mental Health Crisis Team. She has both clinical, forensic and organisational consulting expertise having implemented evidence-based practice interventions in both the government and private sectors. Leesa has undertaken more than 1000 forensic assessments across criminal, civil, Family, Children’s and Administrative Courts and Tribunals. She has particular experience in risk assessment for violence, recidivism and psychological disorders.
Leesa balances her forensic assessment work with counselling in general, forensic and family contexts, further supporting her reports and recommendations to be in line with current practice. She works with children through to adults using evidence-based interventions. Leesa is passionate about children having access to their best environment for development. Leesa also regularly delivers seminars to legal professionals on issues around vicarious trauma and the role of forensic psychologists in ensuring clients receive the most effective support.
