Recently the Right Honorable Baroness Corston delivered a keynote address on women in the criminal justice system and the issues they face including mental health and social and environmental factors.
The speech was based on the 2007 Corston report which reviewed women in the criminal justice system and the particular vulnerabilities they faced. The report highlighted several recommendations, many of which were adopted by the UK government. Baroness Corston has been a leader in promoting a women-centered approach to reducing recidivism in female offenders and those at risk of offending. The podcast for the talk can be found here.
